Re: [udig-devel] Map viewer details.

The uDig editors work against a style blackboard (and store a real object there). It is up to the StyleBlackboard to persist the thing in an IMemento (the StyleContent plugin tells the styleblackboard how to do this).

I'm going to try just building the style up by hand (I was going to do that for the map but it looked a little complicated) and see how that works.

Anyway, that's probably too much info but please do let me know if you have any insights about the style and encoding issue.

OK, this is definitely SLD shenanigans. Like this string is supposed to be decoded somehow?! There was another project that I was involved with where this is the only way that this could work and I remember it being a big issue on the mac.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<styleEntry FONT_NAME="Dialog" SIZE="8" STYLE="0"/>

I'm going to play around with fixing this but I'd prefer to just build my styles up manually as I'll need to be able to do some of that anyway. But I'd want to be able to use the snazzy uDig editors as well. Do these always put out the SLD, or can they be made to create a model from them instead?

cheers,

Miles
