[cosmos-dev] List of i7 ERs - Management Domain, Broker, MDRs, and GUI for code walk throughs
|
All,
Here is the semi-final list of ERs that wil require code review prior to being deemed complete. Please note that this does NOT include the ancillaries, i.e. Security / Adoptability / etc. As stated earlier, these will be discussed in the Face To Face. Please note that some of these WILL seep into i8.
1. Code review candidate ERs from CA / Compuware for the Broker & the MD for i7:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204921 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959> (Extend the Broker)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205658 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=205658> (Extend the Management Domain)
2. Code review candidate ERs from IBM / Compuware for the MDR for i7:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959> (Provide reusable CMDBf APIs for adopters that intend to provide a CMDBf query/registration service)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=186247 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=186247> (Expose the SML repository API as a WSDM capability)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200254 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200254> (Refactor Navigator and Properties Servlet to integrate with Broker APIs)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200274 <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200274> (Refactor Navigator and Properties servlet to create CMDBf queries)
3. Code review candidate ERs from CA / IBM data visualization (more ERs to come).
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id= <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959> 200254 <https://webmail.ca.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200254> (Refactor Navigator and Properties Servlet to integrate wi...)
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id= <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959> 200274 <https://webmail.ca.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200274> (Refactor Navigator and Properties servlet to create CMDBf... )
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id= <https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=204959> 200275 <https://webmail.ca.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=200275> (Refactor BIRT ODA to use Data Collection Convenient query... )
4. We then revisit the efficacy / value of doing these cross-COSMOS code reviews in i8.
Thanks,
Jimmy Mohsin

Mark & team,
Given our current refactoring efforts, I had a thought [that is preventing me from sleeping :-), just kidding, perhaps I am in HAWAII ]...
1. Is it worhtwhile to institute code reviews DURING an iteration itself, as opposed to doing them after an iteration is complete?
<mdw>i think this makes sense.</mdw>
2. If you think this is a good idea, we should do this AT LEAST for the "more critical" ERS, i.e. for ERs that have numerous touchpoint in the world of the COSMOS DC.
<mdw>agree</mdw>
3. I think this will align the coding with design UPFRONT. Of course, the flip is that we will add some drag to the flight...
<mdw>understood, but i think this is a way to help keep us all on the same page.</mdw>
Thoughts?
