I was having a bit of trouble following your thoughts. I was not sure what you meant about a pull request and starting the Locationtech IP process again.

I would like to hear back from Andrea on how he feels about the difference between a target platform file vs the SDK download.

I also noted that some projects offer a P2 repository that people can just download. How does that work with the use of a target platform?

(For example EMF offers a download "all in one" update site - http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/downloads/? )

Perhaps it is worth asking how that is done; it may be the "p2" alternative to our usual SDK download.
