Just a hint for getting some information. Use the edit tool and view
the selected item in the table view. This doesn't work for WMS but
it will work for any feature based layer.

Thanks, that works. I installed seamonkey-1.0.8 from Slackware 11
patches, set MOZILLA_HOME to /usr/lib/seamonkey, logged off and back
on again, and uDig now uses seamonkey to show its help. Whew!
I'm still mystified by the missing information view--what I want to
do is click on a polygon and have some display of that polygon's
attributes. I can select the 'i' from the toolbar and choose
"Info" from its drop-down menu, the cursor changes to a small arrow
with
the letter 'i' below it, but when I click something, there is no
response, no activity at all. I make sure that the layer I'm
interested
in (a poly layer) is active in the Layer view. And I get no error
messages in the .log file. Am I thinking of this incorrectly?
