Hi Bart,

Assuming uDig is setup for internationalization (and most of it 
currently is), you won't have to use Eclipse at all.

You will need to use Subversion to checkout the uDig codebase so you can 
translate the plugin.properties files and the message.properties files. 
Well, you can use the web-svn client, but it quite a pain to navigate. 
(http://svn.geotools.org/udig/trunk etc.)

The Wiki is fairly easy to pick up on. Just sign up for an account and 
then you can create/edit pages. The space for the Dutch translation of 
the user's guide is located at 
http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/NL/Home
