[sumo-user] Using SUMO for simulation of a multimodal transportation system

To whom it may concern,

I'm currently working on a project that requires simulating a multimodal transportation system. In our project we are interested in studying the exchange of passengers between two exchange stations.

Each station belongs to one or more transportation modes of large capacities such as trains. The arrival of two successive trains is separated by a fixed or variable time interval.

The exchange of passengers between these two stations is ensured by a finite number of buses of limited capacities.

We want to simulate this system using SUMO.

The passengers disembarking and boarding at/from transportation systems are considered as continuous flows. We want to know if we can model the continuous behaviors of passengers using SUMO? Can we generate a random number of passengers that want to disembark from a transportation system? Can we also have information on the number of waiting passengers in a station using a sensor for example? Finally, can we control the departure dates of transportation systems from the exchange stations?

Thank you for considering my request. Would really appreciate any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Karima Outafraout
