Re: [udig-dev] SDK Build

Josh, welcome to developer list!

At the moment you have two options to build your application on top of / with uDig. We have two different versions supporting two different Eclipse versions.

If you like to build on Eclipse E4 (latest) you have to build the sdk yourself (at the moment of writing):

please follow the steps to download dependencies : https://github.com/locationtech/udig-platform#build-instructions

and to build the sdk you should use the maven option
-Psdk
to build the sdk locally.

After a successful build you can find the P2 Repository down below :  features\org.locationtech.udig_sdk-feature\target\repository\

You can add this Location to your eclipse target definition to resolve dependencies.

However, if you like to build based on Eclipse Indigo (3.7) you can use the uploaded 1.5.alpha1 version. We are working on getting test cases fixed to release an other release candidate

Hope that helps

Yeah I understand that.  Will you be putting one out for alpha2?  I am currently using the alpha 1 SDK.

For sure; the sdk is handy when supporting a development team. I was just not finding it productive to make the SDK by hand every couple of weeks - it encouraged developers to wait for me - rather than check out the source code and take part in the project.

Still the instructions for creating the SDK are in the root pom.xml file, it should just be another profile target.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I was hoping someone could point me in the direction of how to build the SDK.  I have looked around but could not find a page for that.  I tried a simple mvn -Dtargets=sdk but that failed with

Any help would be great.
