Re: [udig-devel] uDig 1.2.1 ?

A friendly volunteer, David Winslow from geotools, upgraded Neo4j-Spatial to Geotools 2.7, so I can no longer run it in the uDig SDK without a new 1.2.1 release, so I certainly would like to see this release happen.

I can make a 1.2-SNAPSHOT SDK release for you if you like; or we could have an IRC session and I can walk you through the process of making one yourself.

For the nightly build, would you be interested in taking a look at the maven3/tycho/hudson build we have working for AWE?

Yes, tycho was the word I was missing yesterday.

I discussed this briefly at foss4g, and can get the relevant developer in touch with you to help get it working on uDig 1.2. One, hopefully easy, option would be to add builds directly on our current hudson server, and once working, just copy the config over to whatever build server you are using.

That would be great! The one gap is we do not have a specific build server in mind right now; does anyone have hardware available?

I say we definitely try to get nightlies running.  For release I do not have time now.

I am catching up on email and enthusiasm after a couple of weeks vacation.

I wanted to ask a quick question? Can we release a uDig 1.2.1?

Pros:
- we have a new feature (wmt)
- we have a new built process to try out (git)
- we have transitioned to GeoTools 2.7, and a release of GeoTools 2.7 has been made recently that we can use without any extra effort

Cons:
- Not sure we have fixed much in the way of bugs (but my email box has a list)

I also ran into a couple of teams that had an Eclipse RCP build server set up (using some kind of maven based build system?). If we can gather up enough volunteers and/or build hardware it would be great to get a nightly build (and tests!) running.
