Re: [udig-devel] 1.2-SNAPSHOT available for testing

I was unable to find you on IRC; I chewed through most of the issues you reported (including UDIG-1699). UDIG-1699 was annoying (as a visual glitch) and does not represent a good first impression; however it is not a show stopper.

I would really like to stick through walkthough 1 and walkthrough 2 as they represent our release criteria. While I respect that we would like to provide a good impression; the nature of software development is we will never finish ad-hoc testing.

As an example your report of not being able to edit cities.shp; I don't recall editing cities.shp being part of walkthrough 1 or 2.

If it helps consider 1.2.0 a release that passes walkthrough 1 and 2; we can can choose to focus on stability (and perform more ad-hoc testing) for 1.2.1 and perhaps performance for 1.2.2.

Jody

The nature of software is that we will never finish general ad-hoc testing; in a sense I am treating the two walkthroughs as our release criteria.
