Re: [udig-devel] Some problems found while reviewing SVN Head

Hi

I'm currently testing against SVN 14624, obtained via Tortoise SVN; my SVN is then updated with this, and used for the test run, on completion of the test run the code plus mods plus data is placed in our SVN and tagged for repeatability, the next slice is then taken form your SVN head , placed in ours, tagged and forms the basis for the next test sequence, and the process repeats, checksums are used to check code consistency. All this is taking place on TK's laptop (if this beast can be described as a laptop), which is still the only machine with direct comms in this place. I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to establish a wanadoo email account on Firebird yesterday with no success,. direct comms is awaiting a new pipe which involves cable laying and is at least two weeks away. I will make another attempt. However in the mean time I have been looking at the code involved, the gml catalog code appears to be a cut and past of the shape catalog code which perhaps explains the presence of the shape reference in the exception report, one of the development team will be setting up a Geotools test environment for me, on Monday I will go through this properly then. In the mean time I've been doing some static code checking but currently I'm searching for the Geotiff source for testing.

All test files were validated before use and can be obtained from Geobase.org or <http://www.emapsite.com/downloads/samples.asp>

Is the a uDig thing or Eclipse, does not do much for user confidence, next best thing to a near death experience in an demo or exhibition. Am I missing something here do I have to enable or build something to get this functionality?

I am a bit concerned that our release is missing something (support for these formats).

A quick question- are you downloading a nightly build?
(such as http://udig.refractions.net/nightly/udig/N20050610/udig-win32-x86-N20050610.zip), or are you running from version control (after using the quickstart?)

Susan is it possible you could use your own email address?
Jody
