[udig-devel] JIRA inline citations

Hi developers

I noted that every time someone does a change or comment on an existing JIRA
issue, not only the changes/comments are sent to the list, but also the whole
original issue text is sent as inline citation.

Personally I find this a bit bothersome to read (or better: to ignore).

As a suggestion I'd prefer if this could get handled like in OpenOffice
issuzilla. There, instead of inlining the whole text, only a web link to the
issue is inserted, so people who don't know what this issue is about can have a
look, and all others don't have to skip the often quite large inline comment.
Below that link are only the changed or new things, as f.e. the new comment.

Here an example how it looks in OOo issuezilla:

-----

> To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue:
>
> User <username> changed the following:
>
> What |Old value |New value
>=======================================================================
> Issue type|ENHANCEMENT |FEATURE
>-----------------------------------------------------------------------
> Priority|P4 |P3
>-----------------------------------------------------------------------
>
>------- Additional comments from <username> <date&time> -------
>
> <Some added comment>

-----

P.S. Since I don't know who I should address this request to, maybe you can
please forward this to the ones responsible. Or should I send this to JIRA
support directly?
