[udig-devel] Adding a new map programatically

Hi guys,

I am trying to figure out how to create a new map programatically. From 
what I can see, this is done with

ProjectUIPlugin#processURLS(Project,List<URL>,boolean)

However it is not in public api. Is there another way I can add a map. 
And if not, perhaps we need a more direct route to adding a new map.
