[udig-devel] More intuitive adding of layers

Hi,
I have played with version 0.7 (so I hoe I'm not requesting an 
implemented feature of 0.8!).
The first thing I fell over was the way I have to add new local data to 
my Map. I have to import that data before I can add them. To me 
importing means converting data into a format the application can use. 
I guess this is true to some extent also in the UDIG case, but it would 
be much more intuitive if I could simply click a button that says 'Add 
layer' and would then open a wizard box that allowed me to choose a 
shapefile etc.. and add that to the map instead of first adding it to 
the catalog and then to the map.... I'm sure this would be a first 
complaint of my potential users when I propose them to use UDIG :-)
Does this make sense?
