Re: [sumo-user] Fundamental Diagram for bicycle

Hi Jakob
Thank you for your response.
Apologies my question is a bit basic. Assigning startup delay reproduces plausible fundamental diagram but in single file motion only. You said there "was" a bug that reduced the maximum recorded road densities and caused faulty outputs for sublane model. Does that mean that the bug has been removed now? I am still unable to get reasonable fundamental diagrams using the sublane model as shown in the attached figures. Fig A is obtained from a simulation of a straight section road with startup delay value 2 and sigma value 1. Fig B is obtained from a simulation of a road segment with a bottleneck; reduced edge width on one of the edges. startup delay and sigma values are 0 and 0.5 in this case. edge length for both cases is 50.

Thanks in Advance
Ahsen

There are some key differences for bicycles:
- observing breakdown for bikes requires shorter edges because more vehicles fit on the same amount of road and averaging smoothes out the disturbances
- dawdling for Krauss is scaled to accel so the effect of sigma is reduced for bicycles
- setting startupDelay between 1 and 2 can be used to scale the amount of breakdown for bikes

Also, there was a bug that reduced maximum recorded road densities and was causing faulty outputs for sublane simulations (https://github.com/eclipse-sumo/sumo/issues/15017)

Tests for bicycles with and without sublane model were added to https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/Tutorials/FundamentalDiagram.html

Hi

What is the best way to plot fundamental diagram for bicycles using sumo. I have tried the method described in documentation for a straight stretch of road (to play with sigma and tau values) but it doesn't works for me, I am only getting the uncongested branch of the curve. Can you please point me to some direction in this regard? Also, would the same approach be suitable to plot FD when simulating with and without sublane model?

Thanks in advance
Ahsen
