The main phase would end after maxDur but you could define the traffic light so that it goes in the main phase again and the side street is skipped by defining two candidate successor phases to the main phase (side and main).

Thank you for the reply. One more question, if I set minDur = maxDur, will
it become a static type with fixed timing? That means the main street green
light will be turned off when reachs maxDur no matter if there is vehicle on
side street or not.
