Re: [papyrus-rt-dev] Clean up open Gerrit changes that are not planned to be merged

Re: Shuai's 65772, the associated Bug 487085  is marked as future. Although an interesting direction that has merit, this is not a product priority at this point in time (nor is it likely to be in the medium term). However, we should not lose the work that has been done on this.

My other remaining open Gerrits are not part of anything for 0.9 or 1.0 but they related to textual modelling, so I think I should leave them there until we go back to work on those issues.

As for Shuai's 65772, that was experimental work on trying to recreate the runtime from a Papyrus model. My understanding is that this is experimental research, so I don't know if/when this should be merged, or what is the status of this work. But if it is to be merged, that probably should not be in the short-term.

Hello,

Yes, I confrim that RCPTT test-case was just an example of an RCPTT provided by Celine.

This helped me to implement the rcptt test for Bug 480403 here https://git.eclipse.org/r/#/c/82759/

And for bug 477723 , I chosed to implement a junit test because it is easier to do it in junit.

So, yes,  RCPTT test-case should be abondonned, sorry to not comment on it earlier.

Hi,

Regarding the RCPTT test-case, I think that was just an example that Céline provided to Asma when she was working with bug 477723 for further elaboration. In the end I think that Asma choose to make a JUnit test instead of using RCPTT as provided by Gerrit change 82708. Not sure if the example Céline made actually ever were "complete".

I suggest to abandon this change.

PS. The update 3 weeks ago was must me asking if the change could be abandoned (as I did for two of the others). Never got a response though. Before that the change had not been touched since october last year. DS.

I will rebase for a last chance. RCPTT tests are already up and running, it would be nice to extend them a bit, especially if script/code is already there.

I've abandoned them. How about 82647? It was updated 3 weeks ago.

I've abandoned 50726, 57104 and 81948.

Is it Ok to abandon Celine's changes related to the target platform too?

Hi,

It looks like we have a "all-time low" when it comes to outstanding Gerrit changes. Only 13 at the time of writing this.

Since we have so few outstanding, could be make an effort of abandoning those that we feel never will be merged. Personally I think that we should try to keep Gerrit as "clean" as possible to be able to track incoming changes, which we actually are planning at merging at some point in (the near) time.

We have had this discussion before, and I do know that Ernesto have a few Gerrit changes which probably could be left as they are. But when looking at the list there are at least a few ones that I feel simply could be abandoned (to keep the list of open Gerrit changes as clean as possible). I marked with a yellow marker in the picture below (and also made some comments some time ago in a few of them).

Is it possible that someone with the access rights to abandon other user's Gerrit changes, could take a quick look and possibly abandon a few of these? At least the two very old ones 50726 and 57104 I guess should simply be abandoned. Keep in mind that even abandoned Gerrit changes can be re-opened again if absolutely needed.
