[imagen-dev] Introducing myself and suggesting a way forward for the Ima

Hi all,

I've just subscribed to the developer list and I'd like to introduce myself.

My name's Andrea Aime, I've been a long-time developer, and PMC member, 

of the GeoTools and GeoServer projects, as well as the JAI-EXT project,

which extends JAI with several fixes, performance improvements, along with

NODATA support.

In the GeoTools ecosystem we'd like to remove the JAI dependency and 

adopt ImageN instead. To do so, ImageN needs to be improved, and tests

be added on all operators and core classes we use.

The idea is to merge JAI-EXT and ImageN, grabbing in the process all

the existing tests, improvements and bug fixes already done in such project,

following this draft plan (to be discussed):

To implement this vision I'd like to request commit access to the ImageN project.
