Re: [eclipse-dev] https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/freeze_plan_4_16.php notes

Hi Dani,
I do not say that everybody will misunderstand that. I say that if you do not know that the „api and feature freeze“ on on 27 of May is not the start but the end of the RC1 state then you have to assume that M3 will end at that day looking at that page. The reason is that the M3 date is missing from this page.
I suggest to add it the next time to make it easier to get the current status when you point somebody to the rules.
Yes, I am kind of familiar with the rules but when I looked for such a page that makes it clear I did not find something that is suitable. Because of that I was not sure that I have current information and knowing that there have been lots of build issues because of infrastructure problems this time I though maybe something was delayed. I should have used
There it is clear.
Others pointed to that page and a mail on the mailing list that both imho did not include (or even contain wrong) information about the important point: where we are in the release process.

Thanks for updating the freeze plan to reflect the current status!
Best regards,
Carsten

It says

27         Wed 18:00 EST                 Release Candidate 1 build
29         Fri                                 Submit RC1 to release train

so, you are just wrong here. What's not clear here?

Yes, I need to update the status. But it looks like you know the plan and what's going on.

Dani

Hi,
It looks like that the page https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/freeze_plan_4_16.phpdoes not contain a single hint that we are in RC1. In contrast to this it clearly states we are "working towards m3“. The m3 release date is missing so that someone not familiar with the process must be thinking that 27 of May is meant.
I suggest to either point to https://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?planor modify the freeze plan to contain the important/correct information.
Best regards,
