I'd rather keep them separate from the other connectors, since they, as a whole, are deeply tied to WTP.

IMO, "standard" connectors that require only m2e core or JDT can go into m2e-core; but connectors that have dependency on other important projects and bring a lot of requirements are better being in a separate repository to allow releasing on different timeframes to allow handling changes in those requirements without blocking m2e-core release.
