I agree with Steffen and Alex (but I would not unsubscribe from the list). The problem is that there are so many lists to follow that creating filters just becomes a major pita. I am not really interested in commit messages, although it is interesting to know what has happened.
I suggest that we send an e-mail to the list after doing something major to the repository. But we do that anyway.

Which are? They might be a better alternative altogether.
