Re: [cu-dev] Version Numbers

My vote is for 3.0 as well.  We can always switch back if for some reason the major capabilities don't make it into to the release, but I hope they do make it.

Yeah we can always change the number closer to release.

Re: [cu-dev] Version Numbers

I think your proposal for 1.1.3 and 2.0 is reasonable. When would we need to decide on the numbering for CU in Jakarta EE 10 by? If there's major new features, I guess I'm more tempted by 3.0. Maybe go with that to define the milestones for now, and if we feel that's too big a number jump closer to the time, I guess we could change it?

Hi,

I was about to create milestones to start and filter issues in GitHub into milestones however I came across the problem of what version numbers.

I am proposing;

1.1.3 - errata or clarification release in javax namespace maybe for jakarta contributed spec doc or anything else we are allowed to clarify in the javax namespace
2.0 Jakarta EE 9 release (namespace change only)

Now I am torn on the next release, some of the ideas are major new capabilities and some are minor do we feel that Jakarta EE 10 should be 3.0 or 2.1?
