Re: [viatra-dev] New logo and icon idea
|
Hi Istvan,
I am afraid the colours and the transitions
are still not yet compatible with that of IncQuery.
* The left part of the V should probably
be plum and then brick
* for the right part it should turn
into orange and gold (with reversed shading - dark2light)
* In the very end, the arrows can be
violet
BTW: the key RGB colours are the following:
* Violet: 48, 22, 49
* Plum: 129,33,65
* Brick: 175, 69, 69
* Orange: 241, 123, 69
* Gold: 231, 185, 75
Cheers,
Daniel

New logo and icon idea

Oh and here's another one with a caption. But it makes
the arrows look a bit strange. What do you think?

Hi,
I changed the shapes a bit and played around with the
colors from the IQ logo. Please find some alternatives attached. What to
look for:
-v1 vs v2: the color on the left side;
-v2 vs v3: the spacing between the arrows.
Further change requests and recommendations are welcome!
Although I have to underline again: this is far from being a professional
work. Maybe getting a designer involved at some point would be beneficiary.

Can we change the colours?
Blue and red together looks a bit unusual to me.
Anyhwo, I back Istvan's idea to unify the design or at least the colours
of VIATRA and IncQuery.
Cheers,
Daniel

Hey,
Sorry for the delay, but here's an idea. I followed the arrow-centric theme
here, although pimped up the colors a bit. It's a just a sketch, nothing
more, and I'm not a designer either. :)
Here's a good source for getting ideas: http://stocklogos.com/category/v.
BTW, I think making the new logo consistent with IncQuery's would be a
smart direction PR-wise.

I created it in Powerpoint as you can see in the attachment. The icon was
created with a webpage ( http://www.xiconeditor.com
) and to me, even the 16x16 looked fine. You can play around with the pixels
on that site.
I'm looking forward to your ideas.

Hi Ábel,
Cool stuff, I like the direction. :)
In my opinion, an important aspect to focus on is that the logo should
look great on a 16x16 icon as well and it should be easy-to-recognize.
I think those arrow things above the "i" on the first page of
viatra-logo.pptx look promising, since they're quite simplistic. On the
other hand: there are too many details on viatra_icon.ico to be suitable
for a 16x16 icon. (For my taste, at least.)
Did you create these via Photoshop? If so, could you please send me the
.psd file(s)? I'd like to play around a bit with these.
Cheers,
Istvan

Hi all,
I played around a bit to create a new logo for VIATRA.
Since I'm not a designer, it can probably be enhanced further.
The font used for the "Tra" part is Josefin Sans (https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Josefin+Sans).
