Re: [udig-devel] Question on contributing
|
Hello Guys,
What I've done so far :
* checked out the Refraction's stylings and images
* created a theme "udig" in udig-platform/docs/theme
* added the converted content of GeoServerInstall to user sub-directory
* added a required ant build-script (taken from geotools)
* HACK : created a symbolic link on my machine from user/themes to ../themes --> TODO with common.py and conf.py
I've modified the ant-Build-script and removed the -W option from sphinx-build command (Warnings are converted into errors)
What's next:
- getting the build running smoothly with the top level theme folder
- update common.py and set project names and versions correctly
- add additional content to user folder generated from udig-docs ODT-Files
Cheers,
Frank

Let us kill two birds with one stone.
The email has been confusing (for everyone) to follow as Frank and myself are learning about github pages as we go. If I could ask you to help with document migration - it would be great. And if you work on migrating the walkthroughs and tutorials (bird one); you will get a good introduction to the uDig codebase (bird two).
I am trying to keep up with Frank here:
The good bit is the "tasks" section; where we can list our name next to an activity we are volunteering for.
Ideas:
- I can write your name down next to the "convert tutorials" task; and I can take careful notes when I convert walkthrough 1
- We could also set up an IRC or Skype breakout session with Frank to work on this at the same time

What can I do to help? Sorry if I sound a bit confused; office email was down over the weekend for an upgrade, been trying to catch up on the discussions here. Would it be best if I worked on document migration, or trying at a bugfix in the code?
