That one may be interesting; in part because I think it needs some environmental variable set up (and OGR installed somewhere). But yeah as long as the factory isAvailable() method functions correctly we can give it a go.

One Levi and I have been looking at is the "shapefile-ng" implementation -
which allows a shape file to be natively sorted.
