Looks encouraging. I believe this is going to be a really nice addition to uDig.

You have probably already noticed it, but it would be even cleaner if the "&" characters are removed/hidden from the labels.

Got the following on screen ... not hooked up to the Map yet but that can be tomorrow. There are all kinds of different options for how to display this stuff (the folder is a default icon; we can force some of these to be always open; or layout their palette entries sideways etc...).
