You would create a git clone of the udig-platform repo. Most of us [1]
have one and we usually push back mature changes back to the main
repo. So feel free to create your clone and let us know where it is :)

Well, when I partecipated as student I had the same doubt, but then I
chose the wiki, since it gives much more flexibility (and the uDig
wiki is really a good one). So I would go for wiki. The good thing is
that at the same time you create the project docu and at the end you
have everything you need to wrapup the final doc easily. Have a look
at how I did it back then:

Ups, I do not even know what that is. Probably we need Jody to help us
out. Can you show me where you found reference of it?

Good to see you started!
Ciao,
