Hi Jody,
This happened on both my mac and on my work PC.
However, it seems to have magically fixed itself for no apparent reason. I tried again half an hour ago and both now work.

IMHO it may be worth considering another git host... Gitorious seems to have quite a few problems.
The current one is:
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
fatal: early EOF
fatal: index-pack failed
I have tried multiple times, and each time I get the same thing.
I am using command line git, version 1.7.3.1
