Re: [udig-devel] integrating the map viewer as plug-in in own RCPapp

Thanks for the warm welcome Jody.  I still owe you the GDAL lib for Mac.  Did you and Cliff figure out how to use the GDAL lib I compiled.  I am not sure where to put it either.  I just follow the source code building instruction Anthony sent me. :-(

We will certainly try to take part in the development of uDig.  I should have more development time starting next week.  It really hard to follow what is going on in your group with only a few hours of development time a week.  Your group is so active.

Our group have also discussed your GeoSelectionService design on the wiki.  There are a few suggestions we would like to make.  I will edit that wiki page in a few days if you don't mind.

Cheers,
Tawan

I remember geovista; it had very elegant style palette control and visualisation options. You should find some of that a lot easier to implement this time around due to improvements in the rendering code.

Welcome to the email list.

The uDig project is always looking for volunteers (you can take part in the project rather than simply protecting your developers from changes - you can help plan when those changes occur).

We are trying to create a better, more flexible version of ConceptVista and GeoVista.  Still in an experimental phrase.  Hopefully Eclipse RCP is the right platform.

Our team, Mark Gahegan and his minions, worked on those projects in the past.

Not sure whether that answers your question. :-(

Just curious, is there a high level description of the NeODig project?

Hello all udig developers,

Sorry for my long absence.  I am almost back to active development: just a week of teaching left to do, and my newly wedded wife and I seem to get a handle on our life together in New Zealand now.

I have completed the tutorial on how to integrate an Eclipse RCP app with uDig using NeOn as an example. We made a vendor drop for both uDig and NeOn, so developers (including our own) do not need to worry about recent changes to each project.  If you need want access to this repository, I will need your name and birthdate.  Sorry, it's the University policy, not mine.  Just send me an email with your birthdate and full name, and I will create an account for you.
