Re: [udig-devel] Loading gml files while udig run
|
Hi Redstar:
The development team seems very busy right now (on various paid work -
and I am on Holiday). The map vicinity is known as the viewport
model; and you can look at the bookmark view as an example of loading
and saving the current viewport.
GML is not well supported right now; indeed the GMLDataStore is being
thrown out. The good news is that a good GML parser is available (if
you or anyone else would like to make a GML datastore).

Hi all,
I'm a beginer of udig. Now, I'm trying to implement an application
with udig.
I want to skip the Catalog Wizard, and load a gml file as the map
vicinity
when udig run. But it seems too difficult for me, so I need your
some help.
attributes should have also the possibility to delete some of the
original attributes and to create new ones. Some of the new attributes
could be automatically completed by uDig... :D this just new attributes
related to the new geometries like area, perimeter...
Otherwise after merging I have always to run the reshape command.
I now realized that there could be also the possibility to create a
temporary layer in the Scratch as reshape does... now I don't know
exactly what would be the best solution.
Yes I am thinking that you can select an existent layer or a new one. If a
"new layer option" is selected you could make the FeatureType like reshape (We
could reuse the reshape dialog ;)).
Thanks
Silvia
I will register this ideas into our track system. I am thinking to implement
this improvement in many milestones (release). Now we are near to release 1.2
and I don't want to add new features. But some of this ideas could be easy to
implement (without risk).
cheers
