The mode bits are set appropriately now.

Note this release contain's Emily's rendering bug fix; and the fix for
linux paths. The reason I asked mark to test was to verify the linux
path issue.
I have passed park a release generated from eclipse straight to archive
(and I have not included a JRE). We will hear back if that has the
executable bits set correctly or not...

Jody put out a Linux release for me to test this morning, and it
looked good. I was able to load a range of raster data (sid, ecw,
tif) and look around, and it was still there after closing and
restarting udig.
There was a problem with the packaging though. The udig executable
was not executable, nor were any of the executables in the attached
jre. I was able to download the correct jre from
http://udig.refractions.net/files/downloads/jre/ and that solved part
of it.
There are two options that we came up with to explain the loss of
mode. The build was produced on a Windows machine and the package
was zipped (rather than tar/gzipped). Not sure which, if either, was
the problem.

Thanks for the testing and feedback Silvia; I have uploaded a new
round with a couple fixes for linux.
Other small changes today:
- I deployed geotools again; moovida has been able to build using
refresh.xml
- small patch to path handling for linux
- released a vpf build of udig (windows vista has a new "window
manager" and this release uses it for a slightly different visial
appearance)
- I noticed that the JAI TileCache was being thrown out on each and
every draw; I have changed the RenderContext to hold on to the
TileCache until the context is disposed(). This should result in
improved performance; although it may be wise to have a single
TileCache for the entire application and place the configuration
under use control in the preferences
Please give it a go :-)
