Any chance you've got a plug-in to _build_ (not just read) image pyramids in the works? That would make a lot of people really happy, as our attempts to make a good coverage tools have fizzled recently in GeoServer land, see:

It will add gt2-imagemosaic.jar to net.refractions.udig.libs/lib
A plugin for Image Pyramid will be released soon.
