R: [udig-devel] udig 1.1-rc10 simply refuses connecting to geoserver1.5.0 WMS??? 
I reported the same problem one month ago.... My server is a UMN Mapsever.
With proposed solution below, now the wizard go on. I have layers loaded, but not rendered, with the following log (Connection timed out):

Jesse how does this make sense?  SERVICE, REQUEST and VERSION are 
required parameters?
