Re: [udig-devel] Newspaper Mention

He He, well you think with a name like mine I would be sensitive to such issues :-) And newspapers love having a person to zoom in on, people are more interesting then technology (although you would not know from this list).

Just to keep you off guard:

Hi, Paul and Jody -

I'm the one who was interviewed - but I'm a "she". :-) I met Jody at Where 2.0. I would have mentioned the article on this list, but the article was so heavily focused on me that it felt somewhat embarrassing and awkward. Needless to say, I'm not at all used to attention from Big Media.

Though this wasn't clear in the article, I mentioned uDig as an open-source GIS because a) our office (West Monroe Partners) uses other open-source applications, does open-source development, etc. and b) I'm hoping to use it for some of the neigborhood-group mapping I volunteer with in Chicago. I'm glad it got a mention, anyway.

Best,

Stephany

A block I met at where 2.0 mentioned he had been interviewed. I
    was actually
hoping he would chat about it on the list ;-)
