Re: [udig-devel] Re: [Geotools-devel] Help! I need to edit features

Hi Gonzalo,

UDig is handy in that you can strip away the parts you aren't interested in and easily add your own tools. We have a community area where you can store you work. Over the next 2 months I am focusing on making the editing in udig at the level of Arc View, if you would like to make suggestions, help, etc... Let me know and I will help you get set-up.

Hi

I'm developing a GIS application in Java as a thesis proyect, and I have been playing with Geotools, displayed maps stored in Postgis and Shape files.

Now I need to add edition functionality (for example, add roads or change land borders/limits) but I couldn't find Geotools classes for that.

I downloaded uDIG and JUMP, and both seem to work fine.
Do you recomend to use uDIG classes as my framework, or is there any other package/suite available?

There is also gvSig (not based on geotools though), you are more then welcome to join us over on the udig email list. We can set you up with a community svn space and so on. UDIG 1.0.1 has just been released, and work has started on UDIG 1.1.0 (with a focus on editing and raster support).

Jody
