We noticed this problem as well and hopefully fixed the problem now.  If
a CRS cannot be found for data then the entire bounds is display...
Unless the map consists of multiple layer.  In which can the bounds are
calculated from the layers with known CRSs.  I am currently adding
support for manually setting the CRS of a layer so you can force the
data of a layer to be treated as if it were in that CRS.
