[sumo-user] Junction Shapes

Hi SUMO Users,

I am constantly baffled and frustrated by the junction shapes SUMO comes up with, especially when lanes are merging or bifurcating. Often times the junction becomes large and only a sliver of the edge (road) remains between two junctions. Moving the geometrical nodes often results in unexpected shapes. Is there any documentation which describes how SUMO calculates the junction shapes? What do the nodes labeled "S" and "E" mean?
