Re: [sumo-user] Lateral-resolution

Lateral resolution determines the space-resolution for decision making (during overtaking) and collision checking. Nevertheless, vehicles can move lateraly continuously depending on their configured lateral speed and to keep desired (lateral) spacing.

Dear Users,

Can someone give me an clear explanation on the lateral-resolution, when using the sublane-model?

My first thought on this was, that I’m dividing the lane into sublanes and the car is “jumping” from sublane to sublane. But this is not the case. And I don’t get the explanation in the documentation.

I would appreciate if someone could help me with this issue.

Greetings,
Tessa
