Re: [sumo-user] Illegal U turns to reduce travel time

Hello,

it is not possible to define permissions for connections at the moment.

All you can do is controll usage of the connections by changing permissions on the source or target lane.

SUMO currently does not contain any automation for this.

However, you can control the availability for turns globaly by setting --no-turnarounds (controlled in detail by further options that start with --no-turnarounds.).

regards,

Jakob

Hi Jakob,

Thanks! After importing from OSM, all vehicle types can do U turn at every

junctions and I can't find any turning connection parameters in NetEdit to

modify the permissions. Any guides to allow only specific vehicle type to do

an U turn instead of all vehicle types?

Thanks,

CG

Hello,

you can model this by by allowing/disallowing the turning connection for specific vehicle types. However, this only works if the turning connection uses a dedicated  origin or destination lane with suitably modified permissions (disallowed for regular traffic but allowed for certain vehicle types).

Hi all,

Can the routing algorithm takes into account of illegal u-turns to reduce

travel time for certain vehicle type? What are the solutions to solve this

problem?

Thanks,

CG
