Re: [science-pmc] Status and plans of Eclipse TeXlipse
|
Hello Torkild,
Unfortunately "
election
failed to receive the required number of votes in the alloted time",
but my offer to help TeXlipse project remains valid.
Regards,
AF

Thanks
again Alexander!
I have nominated you as committer on Eclipse Texlipse. I also
need Erwin and Greg to vote in order for the nomination to be
successful without issue.
Best regards,
Torkild
You are welcome!
This was a test PR, there are lot more things to do
before TeXlipse can be turned to maintenance mode and
escape from termination review.
I created issue about pipeline in the project repository
and hope to continue discussion there.

AF

And thank you Alexander for the PR! As
a user and PMC member, it is much appreciated!

Torkild,
Awesome! Thank you!
Jay
Thanks Alexander and Jay,
The PR has been merged. I have to admit
I don’t spend much time with TeXclipse
these days. After the initial
(considerable) effort to move the project
to Eclipse and get everything up and
running, not much has been done.
However it fairly stable, and does not
require much work although some issues has
been reported.
Best regards,
Torkild
I offered a PR
https://github.com/eclipse/texlipse/pull/108
that fixes the build.
Let's see if the project is alive
enough to consider it.
Regards,
AF

I think the
community would love that.
Torkild is the project lead and
can answer any more specific
questions if you have them. I
believe he is on our PMC, but
I've added his address to CC
just in case.
Jay
I can help with
restoring RelEng for it,
actualizing for the latest
Eclipse Platform, etc

AF

I don't
know that there is a
plan to do more with it,
at least in terms of
feature development. I
still has good number of
users (including me)
despite the lack of
development.
Do you
have any ideas or
interest in
contributing?

Hello
Science PMC,
Eclipse TeXlipse has
promising
functionality but
looks abandoned:
* last commit 4 years
ago
* last release in 2020
* no CI instance
Any plans to reanimate
it?
Regards,
AF
