just found out:

if using a large font (24 size) in subapplication switcher, then I can 
also use an Icon of 24px
but this doesnt look good

but using a 24px Icon and a 12 size font it doesnt look good

I tried SUB_APPLICATION_SWITCHER_HEIGHT setting to 32 in 
addCustomSettings(),
but nothing changed

should I open a bugzilla to render height using maximum of fontsize or 
iconsize -
or am I doing something wrong ?
