You can ignore my request for help with getting started, I seem to be moving now.

I've found libmi in org.eclipse.ptp.debug.sdm and see how I can create a new attach command and pass in a pid.

I've also found information on creating new launch types and new launch delegates.

I'll be sure to post if I get stuck.
