I'm confused.
Are you developing PTP from source, with all the source files checked out from git, and running a runtime eclipse workbench in which you're using PTP?
That's what environment setup describes how to do.  And you would have two workbenches, dev and runtime, with two sets of perspectives...

Sounds like you are a PTP "user", but you don't have a complete install of RDT - that's where the "Remote C/C++ Perspective" would come from.
How did you install CDT, RDT, and RSE?
