Re: [ptp-dev] PTP Monthly Conference Call Tomorrow
|
Unfortunately the scheduled time doesn't work for Jeff
Overbey, so we need to discuss possibly moving to another time.
Luckily my conflict is only through May, so this time should work after
that.
you could send a brief update on Photran that would be appreciated.
[Ralph, please let me know if I omitted anything.]
Obviously the Move Review is Wednesday. I think everything is ready on
our end. We'll need to find a clean way to transition the mailing lists
and the update site (anything else that affects end users?) but we'll
discuss that Wednesday. Also, I'm planning to take that opportunity to
remove some old projects from CVS since everyone's going to have to
check out from the new repo location anyway.
I got instructions from Denis (webmaster@eclipse) on how to set up the
update site so that download statistics will be recorded. I haven't set
that up yet. Last I checked, PTP's site wasn't recording those either,
so I can pass that info on if you like.
I've been focusing most of my effort on testing Photran, focusing mainly
on scalability and Fortran 2003 support. We've started a small
repository of large- and medium-sized Photran projects at UIUC,
including an atmospheric dispersion simulation, the Parallel Ocean
Program, and FLASH, among others.
We are/will be performing acceptance testing at NCSA for Blue Waters as
well.
On that note, it might be worth putting out another beta release
sometime before the full release in June, if we can arrange that.
We hired a new undergrad (Matthew Michelotti) to work on C preprocessor
support using CDT's C preprocessor. He's making good progress, and we
plan to have that integrated into Photran by the end of the summer,
although not by Galileo.
I submitted a CQ for Fortran Search, contributed by some undergrads at
UIUC. That may or may not make it in by June.
I submitted another CQ for a JUnit-like GUI for the FRUIT Unit Testing
framework, but after discussing with Ralph, we are going to withdraw the
CQ. There are several reasons, the most important being that we cannot
commit to maintaining that in the long term. We might release it as a
standalone plug-in from a UIUC site, though.
On a different topic, congrats to Greg and Beth on their new jobs at IBM
STG!
