We plan to update to openmpi 1.1 for the PTP 1.1 release. For now though, you'll need to stick with 1.0.2. There are considerable API changes between the openmpi releases that will probably break the PTP proxy server.

The open mpi website (http://www.open-mpi.org/software/ompi/v1.0/)  says “PLEASE NOTE: The 1.0 series of Open MPI is effectively dead.”
