Hi,
I have tested the different ways of installing the 1.0 release, as described on the
download page. Here are some observations:
* When downloading the RCP it states that it could not find any mirrors and the download is done directly from
download.eclipse.org which currently is painfully slow. Right now it states that it the download will take 5 hours. I don't know how the process of ensuring that mirroring is performed, or if it happens "automagically" and that it is only a delay until it actually has been mirrored.
* Downloading the Papyrus-RT installer did on the other hand found a mirror so the download was extremely fast in comparison with the RCP (even when disregarding the smaller size). But it looks like the mirrored version is an old version of the Papyrus-RT installer. As I have understood one of the later commits, the splash screen should have been updated to be the Papyrus-RT specific one. But the splash screen is still the ordinary Papyrus splash. And the installer indicates that it needs updating (also indicating that it is an older version of the installer).
Right. The problem is precisely the next issue that you already found.
* When trying to install using the Papyrus-RT installer (or using the ordinary Eclipse installer, it does not matter which one is used), it does not work to install 1.0, neither when selecting the "current" or the "1.0" version. The installation fails due to that no repository can be found at
http://download.eclipse.org/papyrus-rt/updates/releases/oxygen/ respectively
http://download.eclipse.org/papyrus-rt/updates/releases/oxygen/1.0.0/ It seem like there are some issues with the Oxygen release repos. Should they have been made into composite repos? When comparing with the corresponding Neon release repos the compositeContent.xml and compositeArtifacts.xml files are missing in the Oxygen repos.
Indeed, these composites are missing. Apparently they are not created by the build (as I expected). I'll add it by hand.
