Re: [open-regulatory-compliance] Charter - Feedback from S(M)E perspective

Il 2024-05-25 13:54 Lars Francke via open-regulatory-compliance ha scritto:

I understand these are the Eclipse Foundation's rules, but for us and
other SMEs, these costs are prohibitive. If the intention is to bring
small enterprises to the table, as the charter suggests, it might be
worth considering setting this up outside of the Eclipse Foundation or
modifying the membership rules.

Even for bigger companies (like Open-Xchange) the annual membership fee of the Eclipse Foundation would be the highest across all our memberships - higher than what we give to eco, OSBA, Bitkom or M3AAWG, for example. While it could perhaps be justified if we were interested in the broad range of Eclipse's activities, it is almost impossible to justify if the only purpose is to gain access to an unofficial community group whose results may or may not have any impact, and which will anyway require an additional participation fee on top.
