Yes, you're totally right, editors should get automatically closed as they
become uninteresting so that the list doesn't bloat.

They should also get cloased when other editors are needed to free the screen real estate, but in this case they should not be lovered in interest.

That was my reasoning
behind disabling Eclipse's auto close when this is enabled and I neglected
to create the bug report. Could you please submit that as a bug report?
Fyi, I ask people to do this instead of filing them myself because reports
usually get prioritized higher if I'm not the submitter ;)

It is kind of hard to explain. :)

Regarding the opening on activation issue, the newsgroup is probably the
best place to bring that up when you get a chance.

Btw, I'm curious, why do you use Ctrl+F6 instead of Ctrl+E out of habit or
because you like that UI more? I prefer Ctrl+E because it lets you type
filter text, but don't use either much anymore.

I am not using Ctrl-F6. I am using Ctrl-Tab which is only one click to jump to the previous editor or Ctrl-Tab-Tab to the one before that, etc. Actually Ctrl-Tab is quite standard combiantion in windows and it is more convenient (at least to me) then Ctrl-PgUp/PgDown.

This is not about editors opened on task activation (the seem opened
quite randomly and I'd like to have separate discussion about that).
This is about editors that stays opened while working on some task. If I
understand it correctly Mylar disable Eclipse's option to automatically
close editors when editor management is enabled. So, it doesn't seem
that editors are being closed at all.
BTW, I am heavily using Ctrl-Tab shortcut aliased to Ctrl-F6 to jump
between editors.
What I've expected is that opened editors would be automatically
closed keeping list of opened editors reasonably short, but not removing
such closed editors from the interest.

  Eugene
