Hi Roger

Just an update on this.  We use connect and loop and handle the threading and maintaining constant connections ourselves.

Would appreciate your thought on ideal keepalive and timeout values for this type of scenario.   Ultimately the connections should be up unless a user hides a GIS layer, then the would come down.  Am assuming updates from sensors around the 10second mark.
