RE: [mdt-papyrus.dev] Papyrus and Helios Release Train

Dear all,

I am thinking about our project to join the Helios Train.
Are we sure it is very useful, interesting and feasible for us by now.

My feeling is that of course we could but it will be very time consuming and I am not sure that time is something we have so much!

So even, if I agree to follow the life cycle proposed by this approach, I think it is not time to do it for Papyrus. So, according to me, it would be better for this first year to follow informally this train and to focus on our main business that is to say building this version 0.7 of the new Papyrus and to target to follow the next train. I do think we not have to hurry on that.

Sébastien.

Hi,

just to remind that the deadline to grab the Helios release train is
December 11th.

We need to take a decision soon ;)

A quick update on the pre-requisites actions that have to be done before
M4 :

Action 1 : The decision

Action 2 : OK
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project-plan.php?planurl=http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/papyrus/project-info/plan_helios.xml&component=Papyrus

Action 3 : link to Action1

Action 4 : link to Action1

Action 5 : https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=294503

Action 6 : see
http://wiki.eclipse.org/JAR_Signing
We need to identify someone for this action :
"Projects who wish to sign their JAR's with the Eclipse Foundation
Signature need to name a person which applies for "signer" privilege
with the Webmaster. The Webmaster will grant required permissions on the
signing server and send an E-Mail with exact instructions how signing is
done. "

Action 7 : OK
I checked and we are compliant

Action 8 :
Features exist. Build is planned to be deployed after M3 (before M4?).

Action 9 : OK
No third-party plug-ins.

Action 10 :
We are compliant with p2 but we still need to use pack200 for update site.
I will give it a try with M3 :)

Regards,

Thibault
