Sebastien doesn't speak about "release". He spoke about only internal version number, during incubation steps, without a release review (just some "stable" versions).

On my point of view, there are too many internal version numbers during a short period. For exemple, you propose between v0.7 and v0.8 only one month of work. And for each version, we need to modify the build and files, the plugin.xml, dependancies, some webpage, the roadmap.
I propose:

Internal versions:

-       v0.7 => 2009-05-01 : existing diagrams, stable backbone, integrated into integration system, integration with EEF, outline

-       v0.8 => 2009-07-03 : synchronised with Eclipse 3.5 API, better GUI, new diagrams, performance issues

First public vesion:

-       v0.9 => 2009-09-18 : TBD
creation review

      -  v1.0M1/M2/M3 .... => synchronised with Eclipse 3.6

Are these versions intended to correspond to plug-in/feature versions? It’s more typical to have one release per year, or at the very least give yourself some buffer room to allow a version between this year’s and next year’s release. Note that the project will not be allowed to use a version of 1.0 until it exits incubation; generally it takes a couple of major releases (e.g. years) to get to this stage of maturity…
